- ABOUT OUR FARM & FARM PICTURES-
Lowell ( Yogi), our daughters, Lacey, Tiffany and son-in-law Chad, and I own 60 acres of rolling hills and pastures in Summit, Mississippi. There are natural running springs on our land that provide fresh, cool water year around for our Miniature horses. About 13 acres of our land is in its natural state as a wetland for wild ducks and woodland for deer and turkey.
We use 15 acres of our farm for our Fainting goat farm and the rest is used as hay fields and pastures for our Miniature horses.
FAINTING GOAT FARM We purchased our first Fainters in 1996 after we read an article in a rare breeds magazine about a unique breed of goat that stiffen and fell over when startled. At that time we were raising Pygmy goats and was looking for another goat breed to add to our farm. The Fainting goat was just what we were looking for.
Our first pair was a black and white buck, Jethro, and a silver doe, Ellie Mae. Two years after the purchase of this pair we sold all Pygmies and began raising Fainting goats only. We purchased a tri buck, Abner and other does to add to our fainting farm. These Fainters began Deer Springs Fainting Goat Farm. Jethro was sold in 2001and Ellie Mae has been retired on our farm.
Today we have many different bloodlines producing premium kids with great fainting ability and a variety of colors with long and smooth coats, brown eyes and blue. Most of our Fainters are registered with the International Fainting Goat Association and The Myotonic Goat Registry. We have kids fall and spring.
We love our Fainters for their calm nature, great mothering ability and the hardiness of the breed.
MINIATURE HORSE FARM We started our miniature horse farm in 2004 with the purchase of a AMHR reg red/sorrel pinto stallion McDaniel's Lucky Red and two AMHR red/sorrel pinto mares. In 2007 and 2008 we have added more AMHA/AMHR mares to our herd. We are in our beginner stage but we hope to in the future to produce some very nice minature horses with a variety of colors for show and pet. Our future goal is to produce pintaloosa miniature horses 32 inches and under.
Our Miniature horses carry many different bloodlines such as Parr's , Bryland Farms, NFC, Dell Teras, Sun Meadows,Little Americas, and Hi Dandy.
